Why do I make that first? Because I want to let people know they can contact me. Through Skype, through messaging here, etc. I normally try to answer OOC messages privately. I slip on occasions. It happens.
I bring it up because I do not often go out of my way to speak and interact with people. Like any RPer, I am pretty scared of interacting with those I do not know. But, I am making an effort to let people know I will talk to them, in and out of character. It just takes asking.
Now, onto what is going on here.
This is an RP account for Legion, pre-Mass Effect 3. This will attempt to be as spoiler-free as possible, but that does not mean that images or words will not appear. I am stating this as a RISK to those who have not been involved. I am aware there are those following this account that have not beaten, played, or even thought of the game. So, I will try to be as free of spoilers as I can, but they will happen.
Hence the first statement. I actually performed an unintentional spoil earlier, and was contacted about it. Which means if I ruin something, let me know and I’ll correct it. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s experience, good or bad it may be.
Being that this is pre-ME3, it does mean events in one and two HAVE occurred. If you don’t want spoilers there, you will have to get over it. Legion itself is a spoiler. So, honestly, I will not be sorry for ruining Mass Effect 1 or 2. The series has been on since 2007. You’ve had some time to learn it.
Now, I will also state this: No player here is Legion’s. For a couple reasons. One, I want to interact with anybody. There are multiple accounts for each character. I will not take one over another, though I may interact with certain ones more frequently.
The second reason, is this is my Legion. Get used to that term here, but for later. Meaning, this would be the Legion I used playing the game. His canon universe is my own save slot. Make sense? Meaning, I will not encounter the literal Shepard he had worked with. Unless I wanted to make a Shepard, which I don’t. There are several, and they’re all good in their own rights. But, here is the skinny on what is canon to this Legion’s knowledge:
-Wrex killed Fist.
-Rachni Queen was saved
-Wrex survived.
-Kaidan sacrificed himself.
-The Council was saved.
-Balak escaped.
-Woke up Grunt.
-Activated Legion.
-Converted heretics.
-Did not reveal Tali’s father’s work
-Promoted peace between Tali and Legion.
-Everyone survived the suicide mission.
-Did not save Collector Base.
-Earn all loyalties.
-Tried to warn Batarian colony.
-Did not romance anyone.
Furthermore, Legion was present on the derelict Reaper. He was present for Tali’s loyalty mission, and vice versa. Legion was the technical expert during the first portion of the suicide mission, Garrus Vakarian was second squad leader. Jack provided the barrier, while the team featured Legion and Grunt, with Garrus as second squad again. Mordin led crew back to ship. The final fight with the Reaper-human was Legion and Thane. Legion was also present- with Mordin- for Project Overload.
This is what Legion /KNOWS/. So, if he makes reference to something non-canon to you, he will hand wave it.
Now, Legion has some speech abnormalities. The first being he does not use contractions, even in possessive terms. He will not (in audio) state them. Second, he will include both word and number form of numbers- e.g. one (1). This is not presented when giving time or date. When describing the number of programs he has, he also does not add the number.
Legion will state ‘Inquiry’ before questions, and often say ‘ERROR’ if he cannot understand something. This is natural to him, and will act as such.
To some personality quirks, it comes back to one thing, this is my Legion. He is not the full and proper canon, and I know this. I would not do the full and proper because I do not want to botch the character worse than I already am. It’s just head canon, but I enjoy it as is.
And as of head canon, I make mistakes in the canon universe, but I will acknowledge them. However, I may not fix them. I am a fan of making anything that happens to my characters become their canon. So, mistakes are acknowledged, but not altered and hand waved. Example:
Early on I stated that each geth platform held one geth program. This is false. Each platform houses a normal hundred or so programs. I made a boo-boo. But, I won’t just back track and pretend it never happened. I like the idea of an individual geth program being worth something. It also makes Legion’s number of programs even more ridiculous in my opinion.
Another head canon is the questioning. The need to say ‘Inquiry’ before each question, and the general attitude he takes. None of these match with proper Legion, and I am aware. Thank you for noticing.
Lastly, notice how a lot of Legion’s dialogue is about being alive, emotions and how they operate, and how he will ask questions in rapid succession? But if the questions are returned, he’s pretty clever about being evasive? Notice how he doesn’t make direct ‘eye’ contact, and almost takes everything personally?
Hint: Legion is much smarter than he lets on. So remember that the Brobot is not stupid.
Oh, size wise, I play Legion about 6’ 8” and Shepard 6 6”. So, Legion is plenty tall.
